<p>The offseason is where championships are won in CFB 27 Dynasty Mode. The games are played in the fall, but the roster is built and developed in the winter, spring, and summer. This guide covers every phase of the offseason and how to maximize each one.</p>
<h3>Players Leaving and Roster Cuts</h3>
<p>The offseason begins with attrition — seniors graduating, underclassmen declaring for the NFL draft, and players entering the transfer portal. You cannot control all of this, but you can prepare for it. Maintain a depth chart projection that accounts for expected departures. Know which positions will need reinforcements and which are secure.</p>
<p>After departures and recruiting, you may need to make roster cuts to get to the 85-scholarship limit. Cut players who have low development traits, who are buried on the depth chart with no path to playing time, or who are disciplinary problems. Be ruthless — every scholarship spot is precious, and keeping a player who will never contribute costs you a spot for a future contributor.</p>
<h3>Position Battles</h3>
<p>Position battles in spring practice determine your starting lineup. In CFB 27, these battles are influenced by player ratings, development traits, and coach decisions. Give young, high-potential players every opportunity to win starting jobs — their development accelerates when they get first-team reps. But do not hand jobs to young players who are not ready — getting overwhelmed as an underprepared starter can stunt development rather than accelerate it.</p>
<h3>Training Camp</h3>
<p>Training camp sets the tone for the season. Your focus should be on installing your offensive and defensive systems, building conditioning, and establishing the depth chart. The training camp period also includes the final opportunity for position changes and redshirt designations before the season begins.</p>
