Wulfgard's the kind of operator who looks simple on paper, then punishes you the moment you play him like a generic "high rarity = win" unit. His whole deal is Heat: apply it, keep it rolling, then cash it out at the right second. If you're still learning his rhythm, getting some outside help like Arknights endfield boosting can take the pressure off while you practise rotations, because random button-mashing won't show you what he's actually capable of.

Think of Heat as your timer and your currency at the same time. You're building stacks, watching the enemy's status, and deciding when to spend. Spend too early and you get a sad little pop. Wait too long and the window slips, or the target moves, or a phase change wipes the setup. A lot of players miss that Wulfgard's value isn't only his personal damage—it's how often he creates "now" moments for the whole squad. You'll feel it when it clicks: the fight stops being a scramble and starts being a loop you control.

If you want Wulfgard to be the star, Electric pairings usually feel best. Operators like Perlica, Antal, or Gilberta help get Electrification online so Wulfgard can punch through with chunky bursts when the status is ripe. The habit to build is patience. Don't blow skills just because they're lit up. Tag the enemy, let the build-up reach that peak, then swap in and detonate. It's a bit sweaty at first, especially in messy fights with multiple targets, but it rewards clean decision-making more than raw stats.

Where he really shines for most rosters is as a sub-DPS/enabler in a dedicated Heat team. Put a true carry up front—Laevatain is the obvious example—and let Wulfgard keep Heat Infliction ticking so Combustion triggers feel constant instead of occasional. Add a resource helper like Akekuri to smooth SP, then slot a reliable healer such as Ardelia so you're not forced to disengage mid-cycle. The damage won't come from one heroic swing. It comes from never letting the loop break.

The big mistake is going mono-element and calling it synergy. Wulfgard's kit wants reactions, so you need at least one off-element partner or you're leaving damage on the table. A balanced setup tends to look like this: 1) a main dealer, 2) Wulfgard as the enabler, 3) a battery or buffer, 4) sustain. Then practise the order until it's muscle memory: apply Heat, extend or refresh it, line up the off-element status, and only then spend the payoff. If you want to skip the grind and jump straight into consistent clears, buy Arknights endfield boosting as a stopgap while you lock in that timing and keep your runs clean.
